The beach is my happy place
I love the sand that fills the world's beaches
Its feel against the feet exploring its vast grandeur,
and the freedom the feet find entrapping its grains between toes
The sprouting of withering shrubs scattered around
The home it gladly lends sea shells washed ashore
The home it gladly lends sea shells washed ashore
The beauty it affords the bank of the sea
after a day spent building sand castles
The relaxation our backs enjoy lying on its spread,
The endless supply of laughter skipping into the sea in hallowed echos
The kaleidoscope of brims of raffia hats in tanned colours of brown, bright blue and fading red
and an assortment of dancing umbrellas
and an assortment of dancing umbrellas
The broad smile on Mr Sun's face as he kisses at sunscreened bodies
The adventure of lovers, tourists and wild hearts its ailing eyes have witnessed
juxtaposed with our memories captured in photos, wrapped in its shores
Where day light and night time find oneness
For some, nature shines best through Mr Moon's eyes

...Thank You Lord for the sand

DeleteIt is Quite sad, that we have no beaches in Port Harcourt. To think we once had "Tourist Beach".

As your peepoo have chased all the tourists in the city nko. The beach went with them. Loool
DeleteDon't worry when Greater PH extends to the riverine areas, we will have beaches in excess.
